The Day Before...

12:00 PM
Coach Pick-up from Bangkok
We have organised coaches to pick up guests from Bangkok to travel to the Sand Dunes hotel.
​
However this does not apply to those who have arranged or would prefer to organise their pwn transportation.
15:00 PM
Arrive at Sand Dunes Hotel
Guests will be greeted, checked-in and escorted to their rooms. This will be the night before the big day so make sure to rest up!

Saturday 03 / 01
The Big Day!

6:00 AM
Buddhist Ceremony
-
The Monks will arrive and be seated at the asana, and this is where the bride and groom will perform the monastic ceremony; lighting incense, candles and worship to Buddha, receive the 5 precepts, offers bowls and candles for the monks to make Buddhist water.
-
The monks will chant the Buddha mantra followed by giving alms and offering alms
-
This will then be followed by the morning meal - Monks must eat before the guests can eat.
7:00 AM
Mak Procession Ceremony
(Wedding March)
-
The groom and the grooms processions will prepare for the procession, where members of his party must hold various gifts (desserts, fruits, savoury food, etc)
-
There will be a band in front of the procession singing, dancing and banging drums
-
The procession will begin from Isabella’s Aunty’s home and end at Isabella’s childhood home.


8:00 AM
Gate Blocking Ceremony
-
When the Groom and his procession arrive at the Brides home, the bridesmaids will be blocking the entrance with “gates”
-
The Groom must pass these gates before he can enter the home
-
By passing each gate, the bridesmaids must have questions, tricks, games etc to challenge the groom as well as requesting for money from the Groom before he can pass through - The groom will have pre-prepared envelopes of money to give to the bridesmaids
9:00AM
Dowry Ceremony
-
The groom will bring in the gifts carries by the processions along with the silver dowry, the gold dowry, and the ring and places on the table in front of the family
-
The Brides family are seated on the left and the Grooms family are seated on the right
-
The ceremony begins with the man requesting the brides for her hand in and marriage and letting her count the dowry
-
The couple then walk to the ceremony room, and each sit in front of their respective parents/family’s and bow to the parents
-
The groom will lift the dowry and place it in the pan.

The Bride’s mother will tie the dowry and carry it on her shoulders, pretending that is s very heavy


10:00 AM
Conch Watering Ceremony

This is where all guests can bless the bride and groom by pouring water from a conch onto their hands

The newlyweds will sit on the conch watering table, the bride will sit on the left and the groom on the right
12:00 PM
Lunch Time

Intermission
It's a loooong day, so we think you'll need a break!

Guests will be taken back to Sand Dunes Hotel to freshen up, rest and get ready for the evening celebrations!

Evening Celebration Begins!
Get ready for a fun night of dinner and drinks, great music, live entertainment, dancing, and lots of photos along the way. We’re excited to celebrate with you!

Coach to Bangkok
Check out is at 12:00 PM.

We have arranged for a coach to take those who would like to return to Bangkok.
​
No worries if you would prefer to arrange your own travel and itinerary. This won't apply to you!

Arrive in Bangkok
This is where the adventure ends...
